It effortlessly grinds down spices, even bay leaves that used to jam my old grinder. Just remember to pulse the grind for optimal effectiveness. I utilize this grinder for grinding flax seeds and apricot kernels separately. It operates at an extremely fast pace! It takes only 3-4 seconds to grind flax seeds into a fine powder and about 20 seconds for the apricot kernels. My only issue is with the lid, which is difficult to remove and align perfectly. Grinding is so precise that residual powder often sticks to the lid, sides, and bottom. A brush included for cleaning would be a valuable addition.
