Quality Small but powerful grill
Review by Lorraine / (Posted on 4/8/2024)The Courant grill is fantastic - it's quick and easy to clean. I love using it. -
Quality Courant compact grill.
Review by Scott / (Posted on 3/29/2024)This grill is perfect for one person, but it's a little small for cooking two large patties at the same time. It doesn't have a temperature adjusting knob, but after 6 minutes my patties are cooked perfectly. -
Quality I arrived promptly
Review by Larry / (Posted on 3/20/2024)The product is great, I have no complaints. -
Quality 4 stars although dissatisfied
Review by Vieira / (Posted on 3/16/2024)I purchased two of these grills, one in 2022 and one in 2023, and unfortunately, neither lasted a year. The coating on the grill bubbled and peeled off, exposing the metal underneath. I only used water and mild dish soap to clean it after each use. I really enjoy this little grill for its convenience, but I wish the coating would have lasted longer. I won't be purchasing it again. -
Quality Courant wins and so does this fantastic fantastic as well
Review by Carnagie / (Posted on 3/15/2024)The Courant grill is a simple, easy to use, and well priced option for enjoyable grilling. I highly recommend it. Thank you. -
Quality Ideal for one salmon fillet,
Review by Grandavia / (Posted on 3/14/2024)I reside in a high rise apartment and can easily smell when someone fries fish on my floor. I decided to buy a grill so that I could cook salmon on my balcony and maintain a pleasant smelling home. The grill is easy to use and the salmon turns out delicious. I'm happy with my purchase. -
Quality A great fit for what I needed.
Review by Cynthia / (Posted on 3/3/2024)I removed one star, despite my overall satisfaction with this grill, because it produces a lot of smoke when I grill frozen hamburger patties, which was the main purpose of my purchase. However, the patties are cooked well in just 2-3 minutes from frozen. I haven't tested other food items yet, but I still appreciate this grill for its ease of use and efficiency in getting the job done. -
Quality Superb barbeque
Review by TheGuardian / (Posted on 3/1/2024)This grill is perfect for cooking steaks and burgers. It works great and I highly recommend buying it. -
Quality Small and Easy to Store toaster
Review by Barbie / (Posted on 2/22/2024)This toaster is great for making hamburgers, cooking them perfectly in just 5 minutes. It's large enough to fit two large burgers at a time. -
Quality Incredible
Review by Pete / (Posted on 2/8/2024)The product is excellent and the price is very reasonable. -
Quality Simple instructions
Review by Bobbie / (Posted on 2/1/2024)I used to own one of these in the past. I'm grateful for my Courant Grill. -
Quality Essential
Review by Miko / (Posted on 1/25/2024)This mini indoor grill is absolutely the best. I love using it to make sandwiches, and they come out delicious every time. I can now make my own paninis at home, and the crunch on the bread is amazing. It heats the meat and melts the cheese perfectly. You can also add veggies, but be careful because they can get hot. It's perfect for making a delicious dinner for one with grilled meats. I'm even thinking of buying more as gifts because it's so affordable. -
Quality Not as big as I expected
Review by Sven / (Posted on 1/20/2024)The size was smaller than expected, but it still worked well. It heats up quickly. -
Quality Awesome Product
Review by Delores / (Posted on 1/13/2024)Convenient, useful, and efficient. -

Quality Lightweight toaster
Review by Louise / (Posted on 9/26/2023)Its super lightweight, its perfect for me since I live in a dorm room and sometimes I want to grill burgers or bread -
Quality Fulfillment
Review by norma / (Posted on 9/22/2023)The size of the toaster is too small, but I plan on using it for cooking steaks, chicken cutlets, and salmon. I will see how it performs when I try it out. -
Quality Simple design, convenient, affordable toaster
Review by Consumer14 / (Posted on 8/11/2023)I recently purchased a new Courant grill to replace my old one that was 10 years old and no longer in good condition. The non-stick coating had worn off, so I wanted to find something quick and easy for my kitchen. This Courant grill fits the bill perfectly and is a great deal at around $26. It may not be the highest quality clamshell cooking unit, but it gets the job done. Just be sure to use oven mitts because it gets very hot around the edges. I also recommend keeping it away from kids. So far, it's been working well for me. Just be aware that some grease may splash outside of the grease tray, so it's a good idea to put something easy to clean underneath the grill. -
Quality The determined little grill
Review by Simon / (Posted on 6/16/2023)I have been using the Courant grill for a few nights now and it is absolutely fantastic! A few years ago, I bought the larger Courant Grill as a Christmas gift for my parents, but it was hardly used because it was too big and difficult to clean. The top grill plate had a unique design that made it hard to clean, unlike traditional straight grill lines. After some consideration, I decided to go with the CCG-2871W, and I wish I had chosen it initially due to its compact size and easy cleanup with traditional grill marks. It heats up quickly, and the lack of temperature control is not an issue. Cleanup is a breeze, with various methods available, including using wet paper towels or a wet cloth to wipe the grill while still hot. Overall, this grill is perfect for cooking for a small family and encourages healthier eating choices. -
Quality Useful and a great present...
Review by Denise / (Posted on 4/29/2023)This compact white grill is handy for quick cooking, but not something you'd want to leave out on the counter. It's great for busy people who don't have time to spend hours cooking. The grill cooks meat much faster than using a frying pan or broiler, and creates very little mess when cooking chicken, pork, or burgers. It takes up minimal space, cooks fast, and is easy to clean. However, it lacks a timer and heat control dial, so keep a close eye on your food to prevent burning. It's not suitable for large families due to its small cooking surface. Overall, it's a good value for the price and I would recommend it to a friend. -
Quality Quite nice,
Review by Nick / (Posted on 2/28/2023)Unfortunately, our Courant grill was accidentally dropped down a staircase, so we had to replace it with the smallest model (CCG-2871W). It works well and cooks a turkey burger in 7 minutes. It is compact and easy to store. The indicator light functions, but the manual doesn't provide much guidance on its use. The only downside is that it can be a tight fit for two mid-sized hamburger patties, potentially leading to uneven cooking. Overall, it's a good value for the price. -
Quality Ideal for my requirements
Review by Irene / (Posted on 1/6/2023)This toaster is great for occasional grilling and effectively removes extra fat. It is simple to use and comes with an instruction booklet that provides cooking times for different items. -
Quality The ultimate kitchen appliance,
Review by Monica / (Posted on 1/5/2023)This cooking machine is perfect for when you're in a hurry and don't have time to cook for 40-50 minutes. It's quick and easy to use, making it convenient for busy days. It's great for people who don't know how to cook because it solves the problem effortlessly. Just place the food in between and let it do its thing. -
Quality Efficient storage solution
Review by Rita / (Posted on 8/23/2022)This grill does not have removable cooking plates, but it is easy to clean. However, it needs to be placed on a silicone baking sheet to prevent it from sliding. It is very lightweight and cooks great. -
Quality toaster
Review by GatorMom / (Posted on 7/12/2022)I purchased this grill in August 2021 and have been the only one using it, although not very frequently. To clean it, I spray a multi-purpose cleaner and let it sit while I eat. Then I use a soft sponge to wipe it off thoroughly. Unfortunately, the coating on the bottom has come off, and I'm concerned that it may have been getting stuck on my food. Despite the grill cooking quickly, I now have to get rid of it. -
Quality Smooth sailing thus far
Review by Me / (Posted on 7/5/2022)This basic model grill is working well so far, but it doesn't have temperature control or an on/off switch. It turns on when plugged in and heats to a set temperature, with a light that turns off when it's ready. I've grilled steak, chicken breast, fish, and made panini sandwiches with good results. I make sure to keep it very clean, using a wet paper towel to keep the food soft and loose after grilling. It's important to be mindful of the grill's high heat, as the included scraping spatula is of poor quality and the plastic may become brittle over time. Additionally, be cautious of using marinades and sauces that could potentially burn at the grill's operating temperature. -
Quality Ideal for a single person or a busy couple
Review by Stephanie / (Posted on 5/8/2022)I've been using Courant grills for years and have had several different models. They last a long time and are perfect for cooking for one or two people. The grill heats up quickly and cooks food evenly. I've made steak, pork, chicken, fish, and vegetables on it and everything turns out great. The tilted design gets rid of excess grease and helps seal in flavor. I also like to use a light coating of Mayo on fish to keep it moist. Overall, it's a great grill for quick and delicious meals. -
Quality Decent value for the money
Review by PonyPal / (Posted on 4/1/2022)This compact grill is a great value. It's easy to use, easy to clean, and cooks one item at a time very effectively. It only has an on/off option, so you have to monitor it closely. While it's not fancy and feels lightweight, it gets the job done. I'm satisfied with my purchase. -
Quality toaster performing well
Review by Benoni / (Posted on 2/17/2022)A single person can use a single big patty or 3 thick sausages. Use parcement paper to prevent cleaning and messing the surface, and it is also healthier. Put a heavy weight on top to press down on the stuff to grill. Angle the whole thing so the juices stay with the stuff being grilled. Great tips! -
Quality More like 1 and a half portions but good
Review by Robot / (Posted on 1/18/2022)The grill works well overall, but fitting two burger patties can be a challenge. Chicken fillets need to be trimmed to fit two on the grill. It has cooked various meats safely and effectively. Cleaning is easy when done while the grill is still hot. Unplugging it, spraying it down, and using a plastic scrub brush does the trick. To dry it completely, leave it in a dry sink with the lid propped open. Cleaning the tray is also straightforward. Drain the grease, use dish soap and a scrub brush, and then dry with a towel. -
Quality Good quality
Review by Westropp / (Posted on 10/11/2021)I had one for years and this is my second buy -
Quality A fantastic small indoor grill.
Review by Monica / (Posted on 7/20/2021)I highly recommend the Courant Grill for anyone who wants a small, easy-to-use grill for cooking single servings. It's compact, has automatic temperature control, and is simple to clean. I've owned two of these grills, and the first one lasted over 10 years before the Teflon coating wore down. I never thought of using it as a panini press, but now I will. Great quality for the price. -
Quality A tad snug for two people but...
Review by GrandpaWilbur / (Posted on 2/27/2021)I purchased a two-serving classic unit on sale, but it's more like a one-serving unit. The next week, I bought a four-serving unit with removable cooking surfaces, which is more like what I expected the two-serving unit to be. I use the four-serving unit more often when cooking for my wife and me.
I've used the Courant grill to cook burgers, chicken breast, boned chicken thighs, cabbage steaks and bacon. Cooking bacon requires turning for even cooking, but the fat is well extracted.
For the cabbage, I cut slices and brushed them with olive oil and garlic powder before cooking. It makes a delicious side dish.
I also made pressed breakfast sandwiches using the grill, with a muffin, egg, bacon, and cheese. Precook the egg in a frying pan while cooking the bacon on the grill.
The removable grill plates are easier to clean than the fixed plates, but both are manageable if cleaned while still warm. I had trouble cleaning burnt-on debris from the fixed grill plates once, but using a damp dish towel between the closed plates helped to clean it off.
The heat is fairly even, but thicker items cook faster near the hinge side. Pressing the lid down onto the food helps to ensure even cooking. -
Quality Great for what I was aiming for!
Review by DThresh / (Posted on 12/2/2020)This sandwich maker is easy to use and simple. With just a quick plug-in, it heats up while I make my sandwich. After the light goes off, I put my sandwich in and spray some butter on the bread. It comes out crispy and melty. After unplugging it, I wipe it down with a paper towel. It's not ideal for making sandwiches for a whole family, but for a quick panini, it's great. -
Quality Is there enough for two people?
Review by Dale / (Posted on 8/30/2020)This grill is not able to fit two preformed frozen hamburger patties at once, but I actually like that it cooks the first patty quickly and the next one is ready by the time I finish eating. It works well for cooking two preformed sausage patties from Aldi, but I need to flip them halfway through to ensure they cook evenly. Despite not meeting my initial expectations, this grill works perfectly for me. -
Quality Barbecuing for One or Two
Review by PACNW / (Posted on 5/22/2020)I recently purchased a new Courant grill to replace my old one of the same size. The new grill is noticeably lighter in weight but still functions well. I typically cook small meals and can fit four 4-oz steaks on the grill or two hamburger patties if I arrange them diagonally. Like my old grill, this one cooks quickly and evenly, and it seems to pre-heat faster. I also find it very easy to clean - I simply wipe the surface with a dry paper towel while it's still hot and sometimes follow up with a damp paper towel. However, I was disappointed that the grill does not have a ceramic non-stick surface, so I deducted one star from my rating. -
Quality I enjoy using my grill but it's tougher to clean than expected.
Review by Wendy / (Posted on 3/8/2020)I absolutely adore my Courant grill. It's incredibly user-friendly and makes cooking burgers a breeze compared to using a skillet on the stove. It's also a lot less messy. However, I do wish there was a better way to melt cheese on it, as it tends to stick to the top. The cleaning process can also be a bit of a hassle, as some things get cooked on there really well and require washing over the sink without getting the cord or other parts wet. Despite these issues, I do love the grill. It's just a shame that the plates aren't removable for easier cleaning, and the drip tray doesn't attach to the end like I expected. I'm surprised these points weren't mentioned in other reviews. -
Quality Incorporate this into your routine
Review by Hannah / (Posted on 1/3/2020)I didn't have high expectations at first because of its small size, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's my first time using a Courant and I can't believe I went without it. It's easy to use and clean, which is a big plus for me. I love cooking bacon but hate the mess it makes, and this grill solves that problem. It's amazing for the price and I use it almost every day. I've cooked a variety of foods on it and they've all turned out perfectly. The only downside is that some parts of the grill don't heat up as evenly, but it's something you can adjust to. I highly recommend it! -
Quality Ideal for Those With Disabilities Although Not a 2 Serving Portion Size
Review by Jason / (Posted on 11/7/2014)This grill has been a huge help for me since it arrived. I have cerebral palsy and it's difficult for me to cook certain foods on a stove top skillet without worrying about grease splattering and burning me. The Courant eliminates the need to flip meats and also reduces the splattering and mess. I gave it four stars because the size is somewhat misleading - it's more of a 1 and 1/2 serving model. However, it quickly heats up and is great for cooking a quick meal. It's also easy to clean. -
Quality Not as good as my previous grill, but it gets the job done
Review by GLOW / (Posted on 11/20/2013)I bought this grill in June and I have to say, it's just okay. I had a white Courant Grill for about 10 years and I only stopped using it because it was accidentally broken. Even when it was broken, I still tried to use it, but it was unsafe. So I had to buy a new grill and this one seemed reasonably priced. However, it's not a good replacement for my old grill. It burns food if you don't check on it after 15 minutes, and it doesn't shut off when the food is ready. Despite all of this, I still use it every day. I can't imagine life without a Courant Grill. -
Quality Multi-purpose countertop grilling solution for all occasions
Review by Annie / (Posted on 10/15/2013)The Courant CCG-2871W has been a great addition to my kitchen. It takes up very little space on my countertop and has seamlessly integrated into my cooking routine. The raised grill surface allows fat to drain off into a separate attachment that comes with the purchase, making grilling vegetables, meats, and sandwiches effortless and delicious. I recommend using a cooking spray to grease the grilling plates to prevent sticking and burning.
One thing I would improve is adding more heat settings. The grill automatically switches off after a few minutes, which sometimes doesn't give my sandwiches enough time to crisp up. It would also be helpful if the grilling parts were detachable for easier cleaning. Currently, I clean it by soaping it down with a dishwashing sponge and wiping off any excess with a damp paper towel.
Overall, this mini grill is a fantastic addition to any kitchen. It's quick, easy to use, and makes cooking a breeze. -
Quality Essential addition for a health conscious traveler
Review by JC / (Posted on 8/17/2013)I travel frequently for work and often stay in hotels. I wanted to avoid eating fast food, so I found the Courant grill, which is small and perfect for one or two people. It fits in my suitcase, so I bring it with me everywhere. The grill cooks food quickly without using grease. It's big enough to cook two chicken breasts and a sliced pepper. I clean it by wiping it with a damp washcloth, then soaking it in hot water with hotel shampoo. It's easy to clean. The only downside is that the first unit I received was broken, but the seller quickly replaced it. Please support reviewers who take the time to write honest reviews, and be wary of fake reviews. Quality NOT FOR COUPLES
Review by Roth / (Posted on 5/26/2013)I don't think this grill is suitable for cooking for two people, but it's the perfect size for me. I bought it mainly for cooking salmon and shrimp, but I also used it to cook preformed hamburgers for Memorial Day. The burgers were the right size for a regular grocery store bun, but I found the suggested cooking time of 4 to 5 minutes to be too long. I cooked the burgers for 4 and a half minutes and they were not rare at all. I'll need to adjust the cooking time in the future. The grill works well for cooking for one person, and cleaning it was easy using the wet paper towel method. -
Quality Adore it
Review by Brad / (Posted on 11/9/2011)I frequently cook large meals and this grill is not suitable for that. However, it works great for its intended purpose. The surface is small but can fit two large chicken breasts or four smaller boneless thigh sections. It's easy to clean if you just wash it with water and a brush. I recommend throwing out the sponge and scraper it comes with. It does smoke, so I place it on a cookie sheet on the stove with the fan on. I mainly use it to grill chicken for work lunches and it comes out perfect every time. It's not as brown as an oven, but it's juicy. I cook small organic boneless breasts or thighs for 6 minutes. Adding sauces while cooking is messy, so I add them at the end. For $19, I get perfect chicken for lunch every time. I use mine at least 3 times a week. -
Quality Non-stick- : Healthy cooking+
Review by MamaGreen / (Posted on 6/14/2011)The delivery was quick and the cook time was extremely fast, which was great. However, the portion size seemed small when cooked all at once. The cheese veggie burgers were easy to make and the meatball hoagie was delicious and nutritious, but only enough for one serving. The stickiness of the spatula and uncertainty about the plastic material made me nervous. It's important to note that the plastic used may leach harmful chemicals, so it's best to be cautious. -
Quality Efficient and quick-grilling tool, heats up rapidly and easy to use, slightly difficult to clean
Review by Andster / (Posted on 4/16/2011)I was familiar with this model since I had one before. It is very basic, with no on/off switch, you just plug it in and it turns on. You need to be careful and remember to unplug it when you're finished. The light indicates when it's getting hot and when it's ready for grilling. It heats up quickly and cooks fast, but if the meat is thick, you need to apply pressure to the top grill. It can be a bit of a pain to clean, especially if you use sugary or liquid marinades, as they can burn and stick to the grill plates. It's best to use dry seasonings and try to avoid adding too much juice from the meat. Cleaning the grill can be a bit tedious, but not terrible. I usually clean it while it's still warm, using a non-abrasive sponge with water, and avoid using metal utensils or scrubbers to prevent damage to the grilling surface. Overall, it's not too difficult to clean. I bought this grill again because I missed grilling on my stove when I didn't have gas.
