I purchased this unit because I have fond memories of using one in my childhood. It performs exactly as I had hoped, despite some negative feedback I have come across. I personally do not experience any issues with it feeling flimsy or getting stuck. I have always been told to let this type of carving knife do the work, and it lives up to my expectations. I am glad that I decided to make this purchase.

I purchased this knife for my daughter, primarily for her sourdough bread. It has definitely simplified her process and she loves it. She mentioned that it helps her avoid making a mess in the kitchen. While I typically avoid kitchen gadgets, this one is essential! It's really impressive.

I decided to buy the Courant Electric Knife because of its 8 inch blade and 3 year warranty, which is a rare combination to find. I needed a knife with a long enough blade to cut bread on my bread guide, and the product details listed the blade length as 8 inches. However, upon receiving the knife, I noticed that the blade is actually only 7.5 inches long, and it doesn't reach through the bread guide for a straight slice. This was disappointing as it didn't meet my expectations.

This knife is sharp, but it could benefit from more power. I use it for cooking brisket and homemade bread, and it does help with those, although it is quite loud. It struggles a bit with the brisket, but I'm hopeful it will work well for the Thanksgiving turkey.

I've always been curious about electric knives, but I've never felt comfortable with the idea of using one. However, when preparing a 5lb prime rib for Thanksgiving, I decided to give the Courant electric knife a try. The blades looked intimidating, and I wish they had a better storage pocket, but they were easy to insert and release. The instructions advised against using a sawing motion, which was a challenge at first, but with some extra force, the knife cut through the meat cleanly. The handle did get very hot after just 8 slices, which was concerning. Overall, I was happy to have the electric knife for the holiday, but I may consider looking into better, cordless options in the future. If you're curious about electric knives and have never used one before, I would still recommend giving this one a try, especially considering the price.

We recently had to retire our old avocado green Hamilton Beach Scoville electric knife after 40 years of use. It finally gave out when someone tried to cut through bone. We really appreciate having an electric knife for cutting bread, carving meat, and slicing Costco chickens. I have been using my Courant electric knife for 35 years and it's still working great. The only issue is that holding down the button is uncomfortable for me. I have always wanted an electric carver, and I'm pleased to say that this one is fantastic. It's incredibly user-friendly and makes carving a turkey or ham a breeze. The grip is comfortable, but be careful not to get any juices on your hands as it can make it slippery. However, you can easily avoid this by cutting at an angle. I'm really happy with my purchase and I'm sure it has many other uses as well.

I had some difficulty assembling the blade for our Thanksgiving turkey, but once I realized the plastic bit doesn't have to be directly butted up to the handle, it was fine.
