This burner was used for heating hookah coals. It has a great style and is better than any other option I have found. It typically breaks within 4-6 months, but I am okay with that. It heats my coconut coals in less than 6 minutes, which is typical. The initial light up produces a terrible toxic fume, but I won't mark it down for this. I will continue to buy this brand because of its very low price.

After testing the single burner with my Jackery 1000 for camping, I found that it ran at around 820w on the highest setting and used roughly 9% battery power to boil a cup of water. The burner reached temperatures of around 200-206 degrees, although I suspect my thermometer may be off. Overall, it seems to be a reasonable option for outdoor cooking.

I loved using these to cook when my oven and stove broke. Instead of paying $3000 to replace the switches, we waited for a friend's dad, a master electrician, to fix it for $75. In the meantime, these portable cooktops were a great temporary solution. They cook evenly and are perfect for camping or quick meals. Now, I even use them on the back deck to avoid the smell of frying in the house. They have been very useful to have.

I rent a room and don't like to cook, so I use a hot plate in my half bathroom. It's great for cooking bacon with minimal splatter and for boiling tea. I make sure to only grip the ridges on the dial to avoid wearing off the numbers. I also learned the hard way to pull the plug out by the plug, not the cord. I recently purchased this hot plate and found that it took about 35 minutes to boil a 1/2 gallon of water. However, I can also use my microwave to boil water in about 10 minutes and then transfer it to the pot to cook pasta. Overall, it's a good hot plate for the price. If I need to boil a larger amount of water, I can use a Coleman portable bottle top stove, which can boil the same amount of water in about 12 minutes.
