I purchased it mainly for making Chinese Pie, which is around 2cm thick. In the beginning, I tried to cook with the up and bottom sides at the same time, but the up plate could not touch the Pie, since the Pie was too thin. Then I opened it 180 degrees to put more Pies but found it could not keep the high temperature. Finally, I put the lid on and cooked one side first, then turned it over and cooked the other side. It worked. -

Every pizza I've put in it comes out perfect and crust crispy without burning it. Makes great cookies too. Cant wait to try more items. -

Review by Alexandra / (Posted on 4/22/2023)If you're like me and the rest of millennials/gen z who are priced out of being homeowners, you struggle for space in a small apartment. I'm obsessed with this thing. It's labeled as a pizza maker, but I use it for pretty much everything because I hate dealing with my roommates in the kitchen. I've made quesadillas, pizza, fried rice, bagels, toast, eggs, omelets, pancakes, Veggie burgers, nuggets, and sausage. I've heated up pasta and mac and cheese, made tofu, and it even heats up pop tarts and toaster strudels. This thing does literally everything, and I barely use other kitchen items beyond a microwave and fridge. I had another brand before, but I much prefer this one. It also has a lot of space for different kinds of food. If you experiment with cooking in this thing, it can save you hours in the kitchen. I leave it open while I cook a lot because it heats things up super fast when it's closed (don't ever close while you're making eggs or pancakes). Courant, if you need a spokesperson, I'm ya girl. -

I wish the cord were longer but we really have no complaints. It can be stored vertically using very little space. -

Quality Even Works on Real Pizza
Review by Doug H. / (Posted on 2/10/2022)I'm not sure why anyone cares whether or not this thing can make cardboard with some ketchup on top, or whatever they call NY or thin crust pizza. :) People want to know if it can make real pizza... Chicago Deep Dish. And yes a Gino's East regular frozen 10" pie fits fine. My first one I set for 375 and cooked it 30 minutes twice, back to back, no preheat. Any runoff will burn, but that comes right off (nonstick). The crust came out crisp but not burned, and held up a slice fine. The top comes out correct too. The only problem was the layer above the crust came out a little oily and didn't rise into the cheese layers... so I'll have to check if preheating it before putting the pie in solves that. -

Review by char davis / (Posted on 12/30/2021)I was excited to get this. However, there were no directions to help figure out what temps and times to cook pizzas, neither fresh made or frozen.
Directions on frozen pizza boxes need adjusted for this, but there is no direction to help figure this out.
However, I love this to cook eggs, pork chops, grilled cheese sandwiches, quesadillas. So, I may just have to go back to baking pizzas in the oven, but use this as a grill, instead. -

It crisps up the base nicely, and cooks the veg well, but the cheese ends up a bit runny. Takes a bit of getting used to, but quicker (less warm up time) and easier than the oven. The non-stick hasn't fallen off yet.
I've also used it to cook oven chips.
Main fault is the unreadable legend on the knobs (small black text on red). This is a common problem. -
