Quality Time dictates the temperature settings
Review by Jezabel / (Posted on 3/30/2024)The toaster functions well for me. I followed the instructions as directed. -
Quality Ideal size
Review by patinthedeli / (Posted on 3/28/2024)This new toaster is a replacement for an older style that had worn out. I'm hoping that the new one will last as many years as the old one did. -
Quality Compact but efficient for small items.
Review by Debra / (Posted on 3/26/2024)The item is advertised as suitable for small items or single servings, with the product description claiming it is for 2 people and pictures showing 2 burgers. However, the size of the burgers must be small sliders, as 2 regular sized ones would not fit. My photo provides a size comparison with 2 regular pieces of bread. -
Quality Top choice!
Review by Sue / (Posted on 3/15/2024)In my opinion, the original model is the best out of all the options. My boyfriend got me a different one with trays that pop out for cleaning, but the trees didn't fit securely and wiggled a bit, which I didn't like. The original is super easy to clean - just wipe it off with a wet paper towel while it's still hot. -
Quality toaster functioning well at the moment.
Review by Carolyn / (Posted on 3/14/2024)The small size of this toaster is great and it works perfectly. -
Quality Grill Courant
Review by Tori / (Posted on 3/14/2024)The recipient of this gift loved it. -
Quality Compact Courant Grill cooks and cleans up quickly.
Review by Robin / (Posted on 3/2/2024)I used this grill to cook two frozen hamburgers in just two minutes. It's small and doesn't take up much counter space, and it has a plug-in feature with no temperature control. The grill lines on the burgers came out nicely and crunchy. However, the grease pan is small and can't hold much grease, so I had to order a bigger one. It's easy to clean after it cools down, and I use a non-stick spray to make it even easier. -
Quality Exceptional equipment.
Review by Sheila / (Posted on 2/27/2024)This appliance is convenient and useful. I appreciate its convenience. -
Quality Ideal for compact spaces
Review by Paula / (Posted on 2/12/2024)This product is very easy to use. -
Quality Who would have thought?
Review by K / (Posted on 2/7/2024)The small appliance I purchased works great for grilling meat. It's perfect for my kitchen and easy to store, use, and clean. I highly recommend it for anyone living alone. -

Quality Rare vintage Foreman Grill for sale
Review by Barbie / (Posted on 1/17/2024)This compact grill is perfect for me, and it's getting more difficult to find similar options since most new ones are larger panini grills. -
Quality Adore my Courant !!!
Review by Dawn / (Posted on 1/11/2024)This compact grill is perfect for a household of two. I've been able to fit two pieces of meat on it without any issues. It's durable, easy to clean, and can be easily stored in the cabinet when not in use. I highly recommend it! -
Quality There's no substitute for a timeless ...
Review by L / (Posted on 11/5/2023)This is my third CCG-5681 countertop grill since they were first introduced. The other two lasted 8-10 years each, so I have no complaints. The small white version looks great on my counter with my other white appliances and is easy to clean with a damp paper towel or wet sponge. I prefer to clean it while it's still warm as it's much easier. I also spritz the exterior with countertop cleaner and use a damp sponge once a week.
I've cooked everything from burgers to steaks to pork chops to Italian sausage to veggies on this grill. The floating hinge automatically adjusts to the thickness of whatever I'm cooking, but it's important to be careful when cooking two items of unequal thickness as the thinner item may lose contact with the surface.
I've previously had larger versions of the countertop grill, including one with removable plates. This smaller version heats much faster and is perfect for cooking for just one person, as I am single. -
Quality Quality product, affordable price, a bit challenging to clean
Review by Mitch / (Posted on 10/7/2023)This appliance has been a reliable kitchen tool for me for 2.5 years. I've used it for cooking a variety of foods and it still works great. The Teflon coating is starting to wear off, which is why I am replacing it. It heats up quickly and is perfect for single servings, although it can be a bit small for two servings. The only drawbacks are that it can be difficult to clean as it ages and the Teflon coating can be finicky. Overall, it's a durable and affordable option. -
Quality Courant style barbecue for 2 people
Review by Debra / (Posted on 8/23/2023)This toaster is perfect for two people, and I use it frequently. -
Quality So far, so good: A replacement for my old toaster
Review by Scott / (Posted on 7/18/2023)This product has received mixed reviews, but I have had a good experience with it so far. After 8 years, my old one is still working but the Teflon is coming off. I decided to order two of these instead of a bigger one, and they are more economical and efficient for my needs. They are easy to clean, cook well on both sides, and don't take up much storage space. It's great for cooking for just myself or for two people. I've found that I need to regulate the temperature by unplugging it to get the food cooked all the way through. I can even grill fish and veggies, and it makes delicious grilled cheese. After a couple of months of use, I'm happy with it and will update if I encounter any problems. I did notice that the bottom part seems a bit plasticky, and it can get really hot if preheated for too long. I've also had issues with uneven heating, with a burnt stripe across the middle on both the top and bottom. I have to constantly turn the food to get an even cook. -
Quality Compact griller
Review by Myrna / (Posted on 7/5/2023)This toaster is the perfect size for cooking for two and also small, making it easy to store. -
Quality Exquisite Sandos
Review by Monica / (Posted on 6/15/2023)My son doesn't have a kitchen, but he does have a Courant Grill. It's great! -
Quality Ideal for frankfurters
Review by Barb / (Posted on 4/15/2023)Heats up quickly. -
Quality Ideal for grilling vegetables
Review by Joan / (Posted on 12/20/2022)This grill is perfect for someone like me who lives alone and wants to eat a healthy, low-fat, vegetarian diet without the hassle of cooking and cleaning. It's small, non-stick, and easy to use. I love that I can grill single servings of fresh vegetables without oil and the clean-up is a breeze. My only complaint is that the drip tray doesn't attach to the grill, but it's not a big deal for me. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. -
Quality Satisfactory for a Charcoal Connoisseur
Review by KW / (Posted on 9/9/2022)I was skeptical about this electric grill at first, but after seeing it in action at a friend's house, I changed my mind. I love how quickly and consistently it cooks. Once I figured out the ideal cooking time for different foods, the results were always consistent. It's easy to clean and seems durable. The size is a bit small, but it's great for cooking for one or two people. The ridges and drip tray are helpful and it's much more convenient than grilling over charcoal. Overall, it's perfect for a quick lunchtime burger or chicken breast and produces better results than I expected. -
Quality Ideal size
Review by Alexander / (Posted on 8/21/2022)I purchased this for my mother who lives by herself. It's just the right size for her needs. She can easily make one or two burgers or chicken breasts, depending on whether she wants leftovers. -
Quality Versatile in every way!
Review by Angela / (Posted on 6/5/2022)I have found the Courant Grill to be very versatile. I have used it for more than just turkey burgers - it's great for hot sandwiches and wraps too. It's easy to clean, just make sure to do it while it's still warm. I use a wet paper towel after each use and it keeps the grill looking nice. It's also compact and doesn't take up much counter space. -
Quality Ideal for a single burger
Review by Susan / (Posted on 4/19/2022)This compact grill is perfect for cooking for one person, as it can fit one burger, chicken breast, or fish filet. I chose this grill specifically for its size, and I also have a larger one for when I cook for others. I can grill a burger in 5 minutes and a chicken breast in 3 minutes, which is exactly what I was looking for. I use it almost daily. -
Quality Decent product for the price, but with a few drawbacks.
Review by Ruslan / (Posted on 4/2/2022)The grill has a solid top and bottom with a loose hinge, allowing for grilling multiple size items. However, the lips are uncomfortable to use for pressing the grill closed. I always use the top and a towel as it gets hot. There is no temperature control, it heats up as soon as it's plugged in. It's a great value for the price, but if you want more features, you'll need to spend more money. -
Quality Fewer hands at the grill
Review by Monica / (Posted on 2/23/2022)This small grill is perfect for single households, but keep in mind that the patty size is limited by the grill's small size and the difficulty of cleaning it. If you prefer a larger patty, it would be best to consider a larger grill. -
Quality This makes my third one in 20 years
Review by Victoria / (Posted on 1/4/2022)I had to replace my non-stick surface cooking toaster due to scratching over time. I enjoy using it to cook chicken, steak, and hot dogs when it's too cold to grill outside. It can cook 2 boneless chicken breast, burgers, or small steaks at the same time, or about 5 hot dogs. The temperature cannot be adjusted, but it is easy to clean under the faucet with soap and water. Just be careful not to use metal utensils, as they can scratch the surface. -
Quality Adore it
Review by Monica / (Posted on 11/15/2021)The Courant grill is a reliable choice. While it lacks temperature control, it cooks food perfectly and is very user-friendly. The only downside is that it looks cheap and could be sturdier, but for the price, it's a great option. I love using it. -
Quality Top-notch grill, accept no substitutes
Review by greatbeyond777 / (Posted on 7/4/2021)I purchased one Courant grill and loved it so much that I bought another as a backup. I stored one unopened for later. I believe this model is better than the newest series. It heats up well, cooks perfectly, and is the perfect size for 2 servings or 1 large serving. It is wider than the newer 2 serving design and has better symmetry. The classic white plates are easier to clean than the copper or bronze plates and do not stain with white char. I own 5 Courant grills and consider myself an expert. I highly recommend getting this one and storing it for a rainy day. Eventually, your current grill will wear out and these models are not getting any better or cheaper, so it's best to get one now before it's discontinued. -
Quality Kitchen essential - especially for a single guy
Review by Lonelydad / (Posted on 2/27/2021)I am pleased with this grill as it reminds me of the one my folks had. So far, I have used it for making hamburgers and pork loin chops, and it has worked well. I haven't tried bone-in chops yet, but I will update if I do. I was surprised to find that it only uses 750 watts and cooks evenly. My only complaint is that it slides around too easily when I am cleaning it. Overall, it cooks well and I use it frequently. The sliding issue is minor and doesn't affect its performance. -
Quality Streamlined Yet Powerful
Review by ShortTimer / (Posted on 11/15/2020)The Courant Grill is a favorite of mine. I had the same model for 8-9 years and used it until it wore out. It's the simplest grill from this brand, with no temperature control and it starts by plugging it in. The surfaces are not removable, so it's best to clean it after every use. It cooks burgers well, but I mainly use it for grilled cheese sandwiches and reheating pizza slices. The loose cheese melts to a nice crisp and doesn't stick. If you need to do bigger jobs, get a bigger model or use the stovetop, or you'll end up doing a lot of cleaning. It's really good value. -
Quality Adore it
Review by Remy / (Posted on 10/4/2020)I use this all the time and haven't had any issues with controlling the temperature. It's small and compact, so I would recommend getting the bigger one if you're cooking for a few people. The drip tray is convenient and makes cleaning up easy. I just wait for it to cool down and then use a wet, soapy paper towel for a quick wipe down. Even when it looks like it's charred on, the mess wipes right off. -
Quality Get those gadgets off the counter tops!
Review by Prew / (Posted on 7/27/2020)This grill is really convenient. I used to make grilled cheese on the stove, but this grill is cool because it toasts both sides without flipping. It's easy to clean and the drip tray can be hand washed. However, the heating surface is uneven, so the bread doesn't toast evenly. It's not too pricey and now my whole family loves making grilled sandwiches. I'll probably put it away when we're not using it anymore. -
Quality Satisfactory for its purpose.
Review by Sean / (Posted on 3/15/2020)This product is labeled as serving 2, but it's really only big enough for one standard-size burger patty. It's easy to clean and preheats quickly, making it convenient for cooking. I've used it to make cheese quesadillas, spring rolls, and Garden burgers with great results. However, if you plan on cooking meat with drippings and grease, cleanup might be more difficult. I would recommend getting a grill with removable plates for easier cleaning if you'll be cooking meat. Overall, I'm happy with this product and plan to use it often, but I would suggest a larger size for more than 2 people. -
Quality And it's quite simple to utilize
Review by JSedg / (Posted on 3/2/2015)This toaster is a great value for the price. It has expanded my cooking options without costing a lot of money. It is very easy to use, just plug in and unplug. However, I have a couple of small complaints. The grill size is a bit too small, making it hard to cook larger meats. The grilling tray gets covered in residue, and it would have been helpful if a cleaning brush was included. Overall, this is a good buy for someone in their own apartment, college students, or families looking to switch up their at-home cooking. -
Quality Compact, Convenient, Efficient
Review by Kobe / (Posted on 4/17/2014)This little grill is a great choice if space is limited. It works just as well as other Courant Foremen models and heats evenly, unlike those with removable plates. However, it can only hold one or two servings of meat and the non-stick coating doesn't hold up well. I recommend using the special scrubber/sponges they sell to clean it. To prolong the life of the teflon, use parchment paper between the meat and the plates. This works best with boneless meat and results in grill marks without the need for cleanup. Overall, it's a handy little grill at a great price. -
Quality Keep it simple
Review by Evan / (Posted on 1/15/2014)I absolutely love this small cooker. It arrived on time and in great condition. I've been experimenting with it for the past few days and have some observations to share. Following the directions, it's best to preheat for three minutes, even though the preheat light goes out after about two. I've found that using a timer and letting it heat for the full three minutes gives me a better cook. Cleaning is also easy - I simply place a hot, soaked towel in the grill after cooking and the cooked-on residue wipes right off. As the instructions advise, I don't use cooking spray and have found that it's not necessary. I've only cooked frozen meat so far - 1/4 pound patties (four minutes) and N.Y. strip steaks (five minutes for medium) - but the results have been great. The steaks were only about half an inch thick, but the fact that I can grill something straight from the freezer is a major plus for me. Living alone in Vermont, where grilling outdoors in mid-January isn't always practical, this indoor grill is perfect for me until warmer temperatures arrive. -
Quality Budget-Friendly Panini Press
Review by SwampGirl / (Posted on 11/4/2013)I recently discovered that I can make paninis on a simple Courant grill while visiting my daughter. Her grill is larger and heavier, but I found a lightweight version that works great for me. To make the panini, I have to press down the lid for a moment, but it heats up in only a couple of minutes. I spray the non-stick surface with olive oil from my Misto sprayer, and it works like a charm. I only use it for paninis and grilled fish, and the cooking surface is small, but it's perfect for me and my husband. Plus, it's a great price! -
Quality Nearly the initial Courant grill,
Review by AO'NEILL / (Posted on 5/9/2013)I originally bought a new Courant grill because my old one seemed too old. However, the new grill was too fancy and difficult to clean. I ended up giving it away and regretted getting rid of my old grill. I then saw a picture of the original Courant grill online and decided to buy it. I love the simplicity of the grill and how easy it is to use and clean. I've told my friends to stick with the simple model of the Courant grill. -
Quality Generates savings almost immediately!
Review by Hoppaguy / (Posted on 9/15/2011)I used to go to the cafeteria every day for lunch, spending almost $8 on a sandwich and chips. I decided to make my own panini at work using the Courant grill instead. It works just as well as my expensive panini press, at a fraction of the cost. The quality is the same as it was 10 years ago when I had a white one in college, and the non-stick surface is easier to clean. Overall, it's worth the money because I'm saving almost $6 every time I make my own lunch at work. -
Quality An Amazing Dream: Grilled Food Without Added Oil
Review by Marco / (Posted on 4/9/2011)I'm currently on a diet and I don't enjoy cooking. In the past, I would buy vegetables but never end up eating them because I disliked the taste or didn't feel like cooking. However, with this grill, I can easily throw in some frozen meat and fresh or frozen veggies, add seasoning, and have a delicious meal in just 5 minutes. I also use it for snacks by grilling carrots, broccoli, and peppers. It's great that I can grill onions and garlic without adding any oil, and the small size helps with portion control. The only downside is that you can't remove the grills for cleaning, so you have to clean them while they're still attached to the electricity. Overall, this grill is a winner and I will always have one in my kitchen from now on.
