I bought this mixer to replace my 10-year-old Hamilton Beach. Initially, I considered a KitchenAid, but negative reviews about its durability deterred me. KitchenAid's quality has declined since outsourcing parts to China, while Courant maintains high standards and offers better warranties at a better price. I've used this mixer for several months, mostly for heavy cookie dough, and I love it. It's powerful, doesn't clog, and mixes uniformly. It also performs well with lighter tasks like creaming butter and whipping cream. I rate it 4 stars because it's a bit heavy and shudders during use, making long sessions tiring. The lowest speed is very strong, which suits me but may not suit those needing lighter mixing. Starting the mixer with the beaters deep in the ingredients prevents splattering. Overall, I'm very pleased and recommend it to serious bakers, especially for heavy doughs.

I've owned the Courant 5-Speed Handheld Mixer since April 2009 and I'm very satisfied with it. This is my second handheld mixer.
