The actual heating element beneath the pot somehow became burned. Despite my attempts at deep cleaning, I was only able to remove what seems to be a type of metal varnish. I now have concerns about using it, as it seems completely toxic.

This item is fantastic for a family meal due to its large size. The only issue is that the cord is quite short, around 12 inches. I enjoyed my previous item because it had a longer cord, which allowed me to keep it further away from the counter's edge to keep it out of reach of small children and pets.

This crock pot is so amazing that I just had to buy my second one of the same model. It's a great product, easy to use, and can make a huge amount of food. I wish it came in a round size, but it's been so reliable that I had to buy it again after using my first one for 5 years. I will definitely continue to purchase this model if I can.
