It makes snow cone ice, and we've been enjoying it by the spoonful even without syrup. However, once we added sweet syrup, it was a game changer! It's simple to operate with no buttons; it only starts crushing when the top is closed and turned, making it safe for kids. It's a must-have before the summer heat hits. I previously bought one three years ago for $49, and it's still working perfectly. The craftsmanship is excellent, and I stand by this machine because it's my second one. The price is now even cheaper. I forgot to take a picture, and my grandkids loved it so much they wanted to take it home, thinking it was their Easter present. Ice crusher is really loud and noisy. If using for a party, it's hard to hear conversations while the machine is working. The bowl that the crusher comes with is very cheap and cracked easily. You can substitute it with a more durable bowl.

This is a great little ice shaver if you are only making a few snow cones. I wouldn't recommend it if you had a large crowd to make snow cones for. It took longer than expected to shave the ice. Perhaps if you tried different types of ice, it would shave it faster. I just used a bag of ice from the store, and the ice was melting before I had enough to make one snow cone. The consistency of the ice after being shaved was excellent for snow cones, but I can't say that I would recommend this product.
