This hotplate is perfect for my RV. It works well with even temperature on high or low and I use it for all kinds of cooking. It's a fantastic value and I love it. Ignore the complaints about it shutting off - it's meant to do that for safety.

I purchased two portable hot plates for an engagement party and they were sturdy enough for a large pot and heated up quickly. They worked great for the party and are also useful for stovetop-free cooking. I really like the sleek black design and was very pleased with their performance.

This burner was not effective for warming coffee, but a thermos works well for keeping it scalding hot. It may work as a coffee-pot heater, but I prefer using a thermos.

This burner was used for a Hot Pot dinner and worked well. I had to use it on maximum heat with a large 8qt pot. I like the size of the burner compared to others and will be using it often for other cooking ideas.

I placed the item on my countertop and noticed that it rocks back and forth as if one leg is slightly longer than the others. I had read reviews about this issue with the double burners, but I thought the single one might be different. Unfortunately, it also has the same problem. I will be returning it as I am not satisfied with the lack of stability. I hope this issue can be fixed in the future.

This has been my alternative as electricity is much cheaper. I hope gas appliances won't be taboo in CA one day. For now, I can't afford gas, but this electric cooker sits easily on top of my stove and cooks well. The dials are easy to use. I wish the cord was longer, but it's fine for now.

I purchased this hot plate hoping it would reach high temperatures for boiling water and frying, but it takes longer than expected to heat up and doesn't maintain high enough temperatures. The burner is also smaller than anticipated. It may be suitable for warming or heating smaller pots, but not for my intended use of boiling water.

This little thing has exceeded my expectations. It's amazing and I use it almost every day. The only issue is that the light cuts off when I turn the heat setting down, but the food continues to cook. It's easy to use and small enough to store in a cabinet. This burner is great for keeping my coffee warm and cooking ramen at my table. However, the light doesn't work on the lowest heat settings and it occasionally makes a clicking noise to remind me it's on. It would be safer if the light worked on all heat settings.

The burner works well but takes a while to heat up. It can boil water and cook an egg, but it automatically turns off after a while and needs a minute to turn on again, which can be a bit tedious for cooking. If this bothers you, you might want to consider a different option.

The Courant hotplate has very nice exterior design and temperature control, better than an old Hamilton Beach burner I had. It boils 3 quarts of water in about 20 minutes at the highest setting. One minor issue is that the metal casing becomes hot to touch after 20-min of use, but it does have feet to keep the casing away from the countertop. Otherwise, very satisfied with the purchase.

I bought this to replace my stovetop while i was waiting for a replacement part to arrive. It doesn't heat enough to brown the breaded pork cutlets or the home fries I was trying to make. It worked ok for eggs and the plated noodle dish I made and such. Also the temp marks on the dial are coming off after 4 uses. This will severely hurt it's remaining usefulness. I was planning on using it to supplement my camp stove but it is going to be headed to Goodwill after my stove is repaired.
