The hot plate takes slightly longer to heat up compared to a regular stove top electric burner, about 3 to 5 minutes longer to bring a pot of water to boil. When reducing the heat, it takes a while for the heat to cycle down. The slow cycling down of the heat may be a plus as you can turn off the heat sooner and the rest of your food will continue to cook. Spills are easy to clean off the stainless steel surface, but cleaning spills on the plate itself is more difficult. The stainless steel surface and the knob get hot but not to the point of burning your fingers. The knob moves smoothly through the temperature selections with a light indicator that lights up when the plate has reached your selected temperature. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend this product.

I bought this stove 2 years ago and it's been great. It took a little while to heat up at first, but I got used to it. The only downside is that the glass plate just broke from the heat and I can't find a replacement. I've ordered a new one, but I think it would be cheaper to just replace the glass plate. If anyone knows how to get a replacement, that would be great. Also, I had to replace a part 8 months ago because the burner kept turning off and was hard to heat up.

I loved everything about this product. The packaging and marble color are great. I procrastinated on testing it, but once I did, I simply followed the instructions. I set it to max for 5 minutes and made a chicken broth with a whole chicken in the pot while searing two steaks in the pan next to it. The heat levels were fantastic. You don't need full power to have a rolling boil. It boils water easily and fries a steak right next to it. So far, I am fully pleased with this. Great buy! Fully recommend! Wish I would've done it sooner.

The Double Hot Plate served its purpose as a temporary cooking source while I awaited the delivery of my new stove. Be sure to follow the instructions and turn on both burners to the max before using it for the first time. This process is designed to burn off the post-factory coating on the burners, which may result in some smoke and smell. My experience with it was so-so. It can boil water, but it takes a while, even with the controls turned all the way up. However, it cooked every item to my satisfaction. My biggest complaint is the rust-colored discoloration that developed on the burners and dark spots on the stainless steel surface. I'm not sure what was causing that to happen. It's a mixed bag - the item works well, but there may be some cosmetic problems. If you don't mind that, then go for it. Perhaps with stainless steel or aluminum pots and pans, any cosmetic problems would be very minimal.

I've had this hot plate for around 2.5 months. I use it once or twice a day for no more than 30 minutes at a time. Since the heating elements are LED emitting infrared light instead of magnetic coils with induction, this unit draws less current from the electrical plug. I use aluminum pots and pans, which conduct heat the best compared to steel or copper. Water boils in a few minutes, and the frying pan heats up quickly. The best feature is the simple knob to turn it on and adjust, without a digital clock. It remains hot to touch for about 10 minutes after usage, so it must be kept clear of things.

I purchased a second identical unit because I love my original purchase and want to have a backup in case it is no longer available. So far, I've only had this item for a few days, but it heats up quickly and stays warm for a while. However, it can also burn or dry out food, so be sure to remove the cooking utensil and allow the burner to cool. I haven't needed to turn the heat control above #3 yet, and using lids on pots and pans has been helpful. The only drawback is that the whole burner gets hot, including the control knob. Overall, it's a good buy and good value, and I'm considering purchasing more items from this brand in the future.

The product is great for cooking sloppy joes. Brown the hamburger on high heat, then lower to medium heat and stir for 5 minutes. Then turn the heat back up for another 5 minutes. The sauce reduces quickly, so keep an eye on it. Serve on toast and enjoy!

This double electric burner is excellent because it boils water quickly and doesn't shut off and on like my previous single burner. I recommend applying a little oil on the burners with a paper towel to prevent rusting, but do so at your own risk. This method has worked well for maintaining my cast iron skillets and seems to have the same benefits with this burner.
