This works fine for heating things..the burners don't get quite as hot as I hoped. I was hoping to be able to use it for canning, but there is no way this will boil my big canning pan.

Follow the instructions to initially heat up the burner to burn off the coating on the burners. It definitely needs to be done before use with cooking. Otherwise, burners heat quite well. It does pull a lot of wattage/juice to use it, so be aware of this when plugging in to an outlet that is sharing a circuit with other high draw items. It will trip the circuit. We use this burner on an outlet with its own circuit to avoid issues.

This is a durable burner and easy to clean. My only complaint that is take a lot to heat up so you need to plan ahead if you want warm or cook something.
