The actual heating element beneath the pot somehow became burned. Despite my attempts at deep cleaning, I was only able to remove what seems to be a type of metal varnish. I now have concerns about using it, as it seems completely toxic.

This item is fantastic for a family meal due to its large size. The only issue is that the cord is quite short, around 12 inches. I enjoyed my previous item because it had a longer cord, which allowed me to keep it further away from the counter's edge to keep it out of reach of small children and pets.

I purchased this product with the intention of making a prawn curry, but I found that the temperature settings were not suitable for cooking prawns. The lowest setting was too low to cook anything, while the medium setting was too high and would turn the prawns into rubber bands. The high setting seemed unnecessary and too hot for slow cooking. It would have been helpful to have specific temperatures for each setting. I was able to make my prawn curry by using a thermometer and constantly monitoring the temperature, but this defeated the purpose of having a set-it-and-leave-it appliance. I would recommend investing in a product with specific temperature controls for more delicate cooking. However, for less delicate foods, it may still be useful.

I initially liked the style, size, and ease of use of this crockpot, but once I finally used it, I discovered that the lid does not fit the ceramic properly. It's off center and doesn't close completely around the rim. I'm disappointed that I can't return it now that I've discovered this issue.

I purchased the knob switch model of this slow cooker for use in my RV, as the electronic programmable model I previously bought had issues with the countdown timer and eventually stopped working altogether. The knob switch model works great and allows me to cook soups and stews without any problems. It doesn't trip any circuit breakers when on high, and I can easily monitor the cooking progress. Overall, I am very satisfied with this model and the quality of the food it produces.

I purchased this slow cooker because it has the largest capacity I could find (8.5 qts) and I often used my roommate's 7qt slow cooker for meal prepping. It allows me to make a large amount of food at once and easily double or triple recipes. I highly recommend it. The manufacturer even offered to replace the bowl when it developed a crack. Overall, it's a great value for the size.

This unit cooked my 9lb pork roast and veggies into a delicious meal, but the pottery cracked during the cooking process. I had inspected it before and after its first use, and it appears to be poorly cast. I may have used a crock pot bag instead, but I prefer not to cook with plastic. Overall, it's a nice and large unit.

The cooker was initially received in a used and broken condition, but was replaced with a brand new unit. It is much larger and functions well, cooking faster than programmable ones. The only issue is that the lid does not snap down tightly. Overall, aside from the initial problem, it has been a great purchase.

I have conflicting thoughts about this purchase. I was disappointed that it doesn't have a gasket around the lid and the cord is too short. It cooks at a higher temperature than any other crock pot I've had, so be cautious if leaving it unattended. It heats up quickly on the outside, but takes a while for the inside to warm up. The outside gets extremely hot and you can't touch it without pot holders, including the plastic handles. However, I do love the size. It was able to hold a 4 pound roast, 5 pounds of potatoes, 2 bags of carrots, and 3 onions, which was enough to feed my family with leftovers. I saw a similar crock pot at Walmart with additional features, but it felt flimsy compared to mine, so I can live without those extras.

This item heats evenly and is easy to clean thanks to the glossy removable ceramic. I discovered that using a ceramic stove top cleaner keeps it looking great. My only complaint is that the lid came with a defect - the metal bezel around the glass is slightly misaligned, causing a crack. I haven't bothered to get it replaced since it's contained and not causing any issues. I'll wait until it actually breaks to get a new one.

The first slow cooker I received had a damaged box, causing the lid to not fit properly. I returned it for a replacement, and the new one arrived in perfect condition. However, the lid does not fit tightly and it takes longer to heat up compared to my old slow cooker. It took over an hour and a half to reach a simmer on high, but once it gets going, it works fine.

I highly recommend this pot, mainly because it is large enough to accommodate a whole chicken and at a good price. It is made with good materials, finishes, and of good quality. However, the only complaint I have is that the pot sweats a lot of steam and I'm not sure why. It has holes for the steam to escape upwards, but it's not enough, so you end up with the table full of water and everything wet from the steam. It's not alarming, but it's annoying, especially coming from a pot that I had for over 20 years and never had that annoying issue. Would I recommend it? Yes.
