Is it supposed to be loose? When I took it out of the box, it opened easily and feels a bit loose.

I like this small coil burner. It's versatile and allows me to cook anything, similar to a gas oven, but with electricity.

Not a perfect solution, but the price is right and it works ok. Some more expensive options are better, but this has served us well. The plastic knob did break quickly, so we just turn the metal post with fingers.

This burner is quite good. The only downside is that I wish the cord were a bit longer. However, unlike most newer burners that cycle on and off when set to high, this one stays consistently on when you want it to be.

This hot plate/burner is fantastic! It arrived well-packaged, with plenty of styrofoam and multiple boxes for protection during shipping. It's lightweight, yet sturdy. We tested it before gifting it to a college student, who was absolutely thrilled with it. She even made us all a cup of tea using the tiny pan and tea kettle we included. I highly recommend this product.
