However, I noticed that it gets very hot to touch and a lot of heat escapes, which affects its efficiency. I didn't consider this before purchasing, and now I realize that the 120W power rating means slow heating. I previously used a rice cooker that stayed cool to touch and cooked much faster. Despite this, the slow cooker is great for small meals and during the winter. I live in Southern California, so the heat release is bothersome. I would be willing to pay more for a similar, but better insulated, cooler-to-touch slow cooker, and I also suggest adding an extra power setting between High and Low. Overall, I am happy with my purchase, but the issue with the heat causes me to deduct one star. I am still on the lookout for a better thermal isolation device.
