I chose this unit to boil my own water at work because I prefer filtering it, and it actually makes my coffee taste better. The In-Sinkerator unit at work seemed very hot, and I assumed it brought the water to a boil, but sometimes I noticed my coffee didn't taste quite right. Since I started using this unit, my coffee has been great. The true cause might be the fact that I'm filtering the water now, but that doesn't take away from this unit. I was worried it would have a plastic taste because only the bottom of the inside is metal, but the water tastes clean, so no complaints there. It hasn't been too long, so I can't speak to the longevity of the kettle, but it appears to be well made. The kettle and bottom unit look to be nice, solid plastic with the necessary metal bits. It looks like it will stand up to daily use for a good long while. When full, it does boil the water in 4 minutes. They were spot on with that promise. I gave it only 4 stars and not 5 because I've only had it for roughly two weeks. I have used it a lot and it has performed well, but I couldn't give it that 5th star without testing it for at least 6 months or so.

This is a great product! It's compact and perfect for making tea while traveling. Most hotel rooms don't have a way to boil water, so this is a necessity for tea lovers.
