I loved using these to cook when my oven and stove broke. Instead of paying $3000 to replace the switches, we waited for a friend's dad, a master electrician, to fix it for $75. In the meantime, these portable cooktops were a great temporary solution. They cook evenly and are perfect for camping or quick meals. Now, I even use them on the back deck to avoid the smell of frying in the house. They have been very useful to have.

This extra burner is a great substitute for my broken range. It boils water quickly and has low settings for simmering and warming. It takes longer to cook in a large pan, but it gets the job done without any strange smells. Overall, it's just what I needed.

The product was purchased in March 2020 and has been used daily by my family. It no longer gets as hot as it used to and the numbers on it rub off easily. However, it has served its purpose for several months while we have been without an oven range.

I rent a room and don't like to cook, so I use a hot plate in my half bathroom. It's great for cooking bacon with minimal splatter and for boiling tea. I make sure to only grip the ridges on the dial to avoid wearing off the numbers. I also learned the hard way to pull the plug out by the plug, not the cord. Thanks to other reviewers, my numbers are still intact. Love to all, take care!
