The manufacturer should use higher quality materials, as the cover was removed and a burnt connection was found.

This burner is fantastic for my RV. It heats up quickly and I can cook on top of it with various pots and pans. It's also great for camping with electricity.

The Courant hotplate has very nice exterior design and temperature control, better than an old Hamilton Beach burner I had. It boils 3 quarts of water in about 20 minutes at the highest setting. One minor issue is that the metal casing becomes hot to touch after 20-min of use, but it does have feet to keep the casing away from the countertop. Otherwise, very satisfied with the purchase.
