I mainly use my stand mixer for most tasks, but I bought this smaller mixer specifically for lighter jobs like whipping cream or beating eggs. It has good power and nine different speeds, so it can handle most tasks, but I haven't tested it with heavier jobs like bread dough. I really like the snap-on container for keeping the attachments organized. The body of the mixer is made of plastic.

I purchased this mixer because it was recommended as the budget option by the NY Times and was also on sale. I needed an upgrade and I am impressed with the variety of beaters included and the power of the mixer. I tested it by making cocoa flavored meringues and it worked great, even spinning the stainless bowl like a stand mixer. My only complaint is that it's a bit heavy, but it feels sturdy and well-built.
