The burner has a good concept and heat control, but the slippery heating surface could cause a pan to easily slip off and potentially lead to a mess or injury.

It heats up moderately fast and gets moderately hot. I mostly use it to heat canned beans or soup and it does that well enough. It's handy to keep in my truck but the cord could be longer.

When my oven unexpectedly shattered during my kitchen renovation, I ordered this hot plate as a temporary solution. It has proven to be just what I needed. For smaller pots or quantities, it heats up as quickly as my old electric stove did. However, dealing with large pots, such as when cooking spaghetti, has been challenging. I've found that preheating the water in the microwave and keeping the lid on while heating is necessary. I suspect this might be a safety feature, as the burner shuts off when it reaches a certain temperature, which can be incredibly frustrating. Just as I'm about to finish cooking a pan of cheesy scrambled eggs, the burner shuts off, making timing meals nearly impossible. While it's a great option to have while waiting to purchase a new stove, I don't believe it can fully replace one.

It takes a while to warm up, but once it's heated, the temperature remains constant and the controls are simple and precise.

This burner is used daily in place of the gas burners in our motorhome, replacing the identical product we used for over 5 years.

This item exceeded my expectations. I plan to use it in my upstate NY trailer for cooking. It's a great value and I've already used it to cook several meals in the past week. It heats up quickly, is easy to clean, and looks nice on the counter. I highly recommend it for anyone in need of a double burner electric stove.
