The donut maker is cute and easy to use overall, but the downfall is that the donuts don't cook evenly. The heating element is concentrated in the middle, causing the center donut and the edges of the surrounding ones to cook much quicker. Despite following the directions, this issue still occurred. I didn't want them to burn, so I had to pull them out early.

My nieces stay occupied with this donut maker. The small donuts are adorable and can be easily eaten in one bite. This is not a quick product, so avoid using it if you're in a rush.

I recommend using store-bought cake batter or brownie batter instead. Cleanup was easy, and the timer made it simple to use. I used a chopstick to flip the donuts over after about 2 minutes with the crepe recipe, but it may take longer with cake or brownie batter.

I initially struggled to find a good doughnut recipe, but I eventually found success with a brownie mix. My granddaughters and coworkers loved the fudge recipe, so I plan to make more. I also tried making pizza bites using pre-made biscuits and the doughnut machine, which turned out great. I'm still working on perfecting the process, but overall I love using the machine.
