I live in an old house with poor ventilation, so I needed a solution for cooking outdoors in the summer. I have plenty of shade and a groovy hot plate set up outside. The hot plate is well-made, stable, and has good temperature controls. It has worked great for several months and is a very fair price for what you get.

I am very satisfied with this product. Despite what others have said, there was no smoking or odor when I first used it. It cooks almost as well as my cooktop. The cast iron burner retains heat very well, keeping a pot of water at a rolling boil for an extended period. It is easy to clean, even after frying hamburgers. I highly recommend it.
