I can confirm that the complaints about the low speed not actually being low are accurate. When you switch it to 1, it really takes off like a bronco. If you don't use a very high sided bowl when beating your butter and sugar, it will end up all over the cabinets and counter. But with the right equipment, it will definitely get the job done.

The speed control slider works most of the time, which is acceptable given the price. I don't anticipate it lasting very long, but for $13, it's worth the cost.
