I bought this hand mixer after reading user s that said the low speed was gentle enough for mixing ingredients without making a mess. It has replaced my expensive competitor's model, which also claimed to have gentle starts. After years of struggling with splashing liquids and flour blowing out of the mixing bowl, I decided to look for a replacement. The Courant hand mixer with 5-speed settings lives up to its promise. I tested it with 3 cups of flour and compared it to my old high-end model. The Courant mixer handled the flour without causing any mess until the 4th speed setting, unlike my old mixer. I also made cookie dough without pre-mixing by hand, and the mixer did a great job. I regret not making the switch to this mixer sooner.

I believe this mixer is suitable for someone who just needs a basic one. The speed options didn't impress me, so I returned it. I was looking to replace my old 2016 mixer, but this one didn't meet my needs. It may be useful for someone who only uses a mixer occasionally.
